Birds songs in Spring give the spark of life to seeds bursting forth.
— Mary Burmeister

At Hummingbird Integrative Health in Santa Fe, Cynthia works alongside her husband, Dr. Uzi Broshi, D.N., offering guidance and support to patients as a Jin Shin Jyutsu patient consultant. Cynthia is also a gifted creative artist, and teaches Jin Shin Jyutsu classes as faculty at the official international Jin Shin Jyutsu website, Jin Shin Jyutsu Spirit Mind Body.

A Direct Lineage to Mary Burmeister

Cynthia's studies with Mary Burmeister began in 1985 and continued through 1990, supplemented by more than 200 hours of hands-on training and over a decade of intensives with Mary and her assistant, Pat Meador. When describing her first Jin Shin Jyutsu class, Cynthia has said, it was "equally devastating and exhilarating”. Learning from Mary opened a way of seeing the body and its energy that reshaped the rest of her life. Over forty years later, Jin Shin Jyutsu remains her daily practice.

Cynthia was authorized as an Instructor in 2002 and has since presented Jin Shin Jyutsu 5-Day Seminars, Special Topic Classes, Mentoring Programs, Study Groups, and Self-Care Classes to students around the world.

Art Meets Energy Medicine

As a child the mountains and deserts of California were her frequent classroom and spiritual haven. Before discovering Jin Shin Jyutsu, Cynthia earned a BFA in painting and sculpture from the San Francisco Art Institute and spent six years teaching visual arts, performance, and writing in San Francisco public schools. That creative foundation still shapes how she teaches today. Her beautiful drawings and precise, clarifying language help students deeply grasp Jin Shin Jyutsu's principles, infused by Cynthia’s intuition and rigor.

Cynthia's introduction to Jin Shin Jyutsu came through caring for her daughter, who was born with a life-threatening condition. Using self-help techniques daily, Cynthia found her own aches and pains easing. And the art of Jin Shin Jyutsu increased her daughter’s wellness in measurable ways, supporting better sleep, better appetite, and greater comfort through years of medical care. Complementing ongoing medical care with Jin Shin Jyutsu enabled Cynthia to fuse her intuitive creativity, and tender love as a mother, into a powerful role as her daughter’s caregiver.
